On October 9, an online meeting was held to discuss the coordination of financial and in-kind assistance to households living in frontline areas to provide them with solid fuel for the autumn-winter period of 2025–2026.
The event was chaired by Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
The meeting was attended by Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, as well as heads of relevant structural units of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
The participants discussed the implementation of the Procedure for providing one-time cash assistance for the purchase of solid fuel for domestic use to the population living in areas where hostilities are (or were) taking place during the heating season.
Particular attention was paid to the issue of providing assistance to residents of settlements located within a 10-kilometer zone from the state border with the Russian Federation and the line of contact.
As of early October, more than 1,000 households in these areas had already received financial assistance for heating in the amount of 19,400 hryvnia per household.
The status of financial assistance payments to residents of communities located outside the 10-kilometer zone was also discussed.
International partners informed the meeting participants about the approximate dates for the start of the relevant payments.
Representatives of the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine drew attention to the changes made, according to which the deadline for submitting applications for assistance has been extended to October 24, 2025.
In cooperation with central authorities and international humanitarian organizations, the Donetsk Regional State Administration is taking all necessary measures to provide timely support to people in need.
We express our sincere gratitude to our international partners, in particular the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the humanitarian organization People in Need, the Angels of Salvation Charitable Foundation, the Avalist public organization, and the NEW WAY Charitable Foundation, for their support of the population of Donetsk Oblast during these difficult times.
Through joint efforts, we strive to provide comprehensive assistance to vulnerable groups of citizens so that no household is left without adequate heating in winter.
