Sunflower has already been harvested on 15,000 hectares — yielding 21,000 tons of seeds. The harvest of early grains has been completed: 167,000 tons of grain were collected from 65,000 hectares of fields.
For the second year in a row, drought and lack of rainfall have affected yields, but the state and partners are lending their support.
“With the support of the Ministry of Economy, subsidies for agricultural producers have been renewed — 1,000 UAH per 1 hectare of sown land. The regional commission has already received 300 applications, which are under review.
At the same time, Mercy Corps is implementing an agricultural support program in the region. With the assistance of the specialized department of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the Eastern Ukrainian Agricultural Advisory Service, 85 households and 3 representatives of small and medium-sized businesses received grants — a total of 24 million UAH for farm development.
