The First Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Yuriy Vinokurov, together with the deputies of the head of the region Ihor Boyko and Oleksandr Shevchenko, participated in an online meeting of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, during which important issues of community development and recovery were discussed.
Among other things, during the meeting, the issues of continuing the implementation of the project to create safety centers in territorial communities were considered, the purpose of which is to provide faster and higher quality assistance to the civilian population during emergencies.
"According to the prospective plan, 28 safety centers were to be established in the Donetsk region. Before the full-scale invasion, Donetsk was a leader in the implementation of this project, and the first safety centers in Ukraine were established right in our region. We have extensive experience in operating centers both in conditions of large fires and during active hostilities. This project has proven its effectiveness and benefit for people," emphasized Ihor Boyko.
The attendees also discussed the possibility of using waste generated from the destruction of buildings due to hostilities. One of the ways to utilize such waste is to strengthen existing or create temporary roads in regions affected by armed aggression. Currently, this issue is regulated at the legislative level, and local self-government bodies have experience in carrying out such work.
