Representatives of Donetsk region took part in an important event – the final discussion of the draft Law of Ukraine «On the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage», which was held on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine in Kyiv.
The event presented the main proposals and sections of the draft law, developed by leading experts in the field, which were discussed at expert meetings in the cities of Dnipro, Chernivtsi, Odesa and Vyshhorod.
The speakers emphasised that Ukraine is gradually moving from a state-centred to a people-centred model in its approach to the formation of government regulations, therefore, the draft law implements the principle of giving priority to bearers and communities as key actors in the preservation of intangible cultural heritage, which is its distinctive feature, in line with Ukraine's constitutional approach and European standards.
