Representatives of the Regional State Administration’s Department of Veterans’ Policy participated in the First Regional Forum on Strengthening Regional Veterans’ Policies, which took place in the Rivne, Ternopil, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
During the three-day event, Forum participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the infrastructure providing rehabilitation and other services to war veterans, their family members, and family members of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine in rear regions.
The main goal of the Forum was to exchange experiences between regions and develop interregional mechanisms to support veterans and their families.
The key topics of discussion were:
- the return of veterans to civilian life;
- access to psychological support services;
- professional adaptation, employment, and entrepreneurship;
- social protection and housing issues;
- honoring the memory of the fallen;
- support for the families of those killed or missing in action under special circumstances.
Representatives from the regional state administration’s department of veteran affairs shared their experiences in implementing veteran policies in a frontline region and in the context of relocation at the local level.
As a result of the event, practical interregional solutions and approaches were developed, and a model for future interregional cooperation was agreed upon.
