As part of the “Best Practices of the UUNGI” (affirming Ukrainian national and civic identity) series of events, an All-Ukrainian roundtable was held in Dnipro to facilitate open discussion and the exchange of ideas. The event was attended by government officials, military personnel, active youth, as well as members of the Donetsk Oblast Regional Congress and members of the Youth Council under the Donetsk Oblast State Administration. The event served as an open forum for dialogue, the exchange of experiences, and the search for effective solutions amid a full-scale war.
The event began with a nationwide moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem of Ukraine, after which the participants were greeted by Andriy DENYSENKO, Deputy Mayor of Dnipro, and Denys MININ, Director of the State Institution “All-Ukrainian Youth Center” (via video link). The main event of the program was a panel discussion titled “Identity on the Front Lines: Real Challenges and Effective Practices for Frontline Communities,” featuring Andriy DENYSENKO, Lilia ZOLKINA, Head of the Department of Family, Youth, and Mass Events for National-Patriotic Education at the Donetsk Regional State Administration, and a representative of the Special Operations Forces (SSO) resistance movement in the eastern region. They focused on the practical aspects of integrating internally displaced persons (IDPs), countering enemy propaganda, preserving the national identity of residents in frontline territories, and informal approaches to working with youth; the representative of the Special Operations Forces emphasized the role of inner values as a real weapon and the foundation of resistance. All the ideas and proposals presented will be documented and included in an official collection of methodological recommendations on fostering Ukrainian identity.
The event concluded with an exclusive pre-premiere screening of the multi-part documentary series “SPECIAL OPERATIONS FORCES,” dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This powerful film not only reveals the details of combat training and unique special operations but also showcases the unbreakable spirit, strength of character, and courage of Ukrainian soldiers. The vivid resonance in the hearts of the audience and the profound emotional impact of the scenes served as the best confirmation that preserving the true history of our struggle is the key to the nation’s indomitability and our confident march toward a shared victory.
