On January 28, the final presentation of the project "A Shared Vision for a New Home: Pre-project Discussion of a Residential Quarter for Internally Displaced Persons from Bakhmut" took place, dedicated to developing possible solutions to the housing needs of displaced persons.

The event was attended by representatives of state and local authorities, experts on housing policy, human rights activists, urban planners, as well as representatives of the public sector and the displaced persons community.

Representatives of the Donetsk Regional State Administration's Department of Social Protection and Department of Capital Construction took part in the event.

In their welcoming remarks, the speakers emphasized the importance of a systematic approach to addressing the housing issues of IDPs, as well as the need for cross-sectoral cooperation in developing sustainable solutions for communities affected by the Russian Federation's armed aggression.

The event featured the presentation of research findings on possible solutions to the housing needs of IDPs from Bakhmut, taking into account modern approaches to residential neighborhood planning and the principles of inclusiveness. The protection of IDPs' rights and practical mechanisms for their implementation were also discussed.

Special attention was paid to preserving the memory of Bakhmut and the role of territorial community identity in the recovery process.

The final stage of the event was a discussion panel on "Housing Issues for IDPs," during which participants exchanged views on the current challenges of housing policy for displaced persons and possible ways to overcome them.

The event served as a platform for sharing experiences and developing practical solutions that will be taken into account in further work on providing housing and social support to IDPs from Donetsk Oblast.
