Representatives of the Donetsk Regional State Administration joined the discussion of problematic issues in the temporarily occupied territories

The first meeting of the Working Group on Preparing Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens and the Legal Regime in the Temporarily Occupied Territory of Ukraine" took place.

The working group is headed by Deputy Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Ryabikin. Members of parliament, representatives of government agencies, public and international organizations took part in the event.

Representatives of structural units of the Donetsk Regional State Administration also took part in the meeting of the Working Group and joined the discussion of problematic issues regarding the temporarily occupied territories and the development of amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens and the Legal Regime in the Temporarily Occupied Territory of Ukraine."

The need for systematic analysis of the situation in the temporarily occupied territories and the damage caused was discussed. The Deputy Minister also drew attention to the fact that the update of the Law should correspond to current international legal realities and encourage the simplification of the administrative procedure for recognizing legal facts that occurred in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, such as the birth and death of a person.

The meeting participants also focused on the provision on the protection of human rights and the clarification of legal norms regarding temporary occupation and the term "de-occupied territories."
