Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Yuriy Klyuchka held a working meeting with representatives of the separate unit of the foreign non-governmental organization "GERMAN SAMARITANS UNION" (ASB Ukraine). The meeting was also attended by the heads of structural divisions of the Donetsk Regional State Administration and the heads of district military administrations of the region.
"Residents of the Donetsk region are in an extremely difficult situation. Many of those who remain in the region live under constant threat of shelling, which complicates access to basic needs – food, water, medicine, and safe housing. Vulnerable groups, such as the elderly, families with children, and persons with disabilities, especially need support," emphasized Yuriy Klyuchka during his welcoming speech.
The head of the Ukrainian mission ASB Ukraine Fatima Azizova informed those present about the main areas of the organization's work and the projects currently being implemented in Ukraine, with the support of donors Auswärtiges Amt, Aktion Deutschland Hilft e.V., NACHBAR IN NOT.
The attendees discussed the possibilities of financial assistance for internally displaced persons and socially vulnerable populations in the Donetsk region, as well as measures to coordinate the distribution of food and hygiene kits by the organization's partners.
Deputy Head of the region Yuriy Klyuchka emphasized that expanding cooperation between the regional authorities and international partners contributes to the resilience of the region and expands opportunities to support people who both live in the territory of Donetsk and have been forced to evacuate to safer regions of Ukraine.
