As part of the activities of the regional platform “Dialogue Between Government and Business,” established at the direction of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, an online meeting was held on July 23 on the topic “Key Aspects of Fostering Social Dialogue and Mechanisms for Preventing Conflicts.” Nearly 100 representatives of business, state authorities, and local self-government bodies in the Donetsk region participated in the event.
The speaker was Artur Khimchak, head of the Donetsk Regional Branch of the National Service for Mediation and Reconciliation.
During the event, participants examined the fundamental principles of social dialogue, its legal framework, and practical mechanisms for preventing conflicts in the sphere of social and labor relations. Particular attention was paid to the role of negotiations, consultations, collective agreements, and mediation as effective tools for resolving disputes and fostering constructive cooperation between government authorities, employers, and employees.
Artur Khimchak emphasized that timely social dialogue helps identify potential problems before they escalate into collective labor disputes, promotes mutual understanding between the parties, and fosters a culture of constructive communication. Participants also learned about the principles of conducting dialogue, the signs of emerging conflicts, and modern approaches to their peaceful resolution.
The regional platform “Dialogue Between Government and Business” continues to serve as a forum for open discussion of pressing issues related to entrepreneurship, establishing effective cooperation between government and business, and finding joint solutions for the development of the Donetsk region.
