On June 12, a meeting was held with veterans and family members of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine from the Maryinka community.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the regional state administration’s department for veteran policy, the Commissioner for Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances, the regional employment center, and the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Donetsk Oblast.
During the meeting, the following issues were discussed:
- the legal status of persons missing under special circumstances during military service;
- the status of implementation of veteran policy and additional social guarantees funded by the local budget of the Mariinka City Community;
- the provision of social services to veterans and family members of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine by the Mariinka City Center for Social Services in the Pokrovsk District of Donetsk Oblast;
- opportunities offered by the employment service for job search and professional development;
- pension benefits and subsidies for housing and utility services for family members of the fallen.
Inna Starostina, Deputy Head of the Department and Head of the Monitoring and Implementation Division for Veterans’ Programs within the Regional State Administration’s Department of Veterans’ Policy, briefed the event participants on the social benefits provided at the national and regional levels. She paid particular attention to the issue of receiving compensation for the cost of children’s education in accordance with the state program, as well as monthly financial assistance for children, funded by a subsidy from the regional budget.
