A political leadership training session took place in Odesa from September 15 to 17, 2026, as part of the "She Leads Ukraine" initiative; representatives from state and local government bodies in the Donetsk region took part in the event.
"She Leads Ukraine" is a multi-year UN Women Ukraine program that supports women's leadership and political participation. The initiative is implemented by UN Women Ukraine in partnership with the Central Election Commission of Ukraine and the "Equal Opportunities" Inter-factional Caucus of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, with financial support from the governments of Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Poland.
The training program aimed to develop women's leadership potential and strengthen their capacity to actively participate in socio-political processes and decision-making.
During the training, participants enhanced their knowledge and practical skills in areas such as leadership, communication, community engagement, planning, fundraising, and teamwork. Special attention was paid to issues of women's political participation, gender equality, and overcoming barriers that may hinder their active involvement in public and political life.
Participation in such training programs fosters the professional development of women leaders from the Donetsk region and expands their opportunities to participate in shaping and implementing decisions that are vital for their communities and the region.
