Vocational Training from the Employment Service: A Real Chance for Employment

Published 30 January 2026 year, 11:55

Vocational training provided by the employment service is a real opportunity to acquire a new profession or increase competitiveness in the labor market. A vivid example of the effectiveness of such support is the story of Tetiana Tykhomyrova, an internally displaced person from Mariupol. After being forced to relocate and losing her job, she turned to the employment service in search of new employment opportunities.

Before the war, Tetiana worked as a nurse. She has incomplete higher medical education and significant practical experience in the healthcare sector. For her, medicine was not just a profession but a calling.

Specialists analyzed her education and professional background and suggested that she undergo vocational training in the profession of Administrator at the Odesa Center for Vocational Education and Training of the State Employment Service. This choice made it possible to combine her existing medical knowledge with new administrative skills, significantly expanding her employment prospects.

The training included mastering business communication, client relations, and record keeping. After successfully completing the course, the employment service continued to support Tetiana and assisted her in finding suitable job openings.

Currently, Tetiana is employed as an administrator at a medical clinic in the city of Vyshneve. During the selection process, the employer paid special attention to her up-to-date knowledge, ability to work with clients, and skills in organizing administrative processes. It was precisely the combination of Tetiana’s medical education and the new professional skills acquired through training with the support of the employment service that became the decisive factor in favor of her candidacy.
