The state is expanding opportunities for the development of small businesses and educational initiatives within the “Own Business” program. Now, private kindergartens — institutions that create comfortable and safe conditions for children’s development — can also receive grant support.
What opportunities does the program offer?
A private preschool institution may apply for and receive:
⦁ up to UAH 1 million in grant funds — provided that at least 4 new jobs are created;
⦁ up to UAH 500,000 — if at least 2 jobs are planned.
This is a real chance to open a new kindergarten or expand an existing one, making it more modern and convenient for children.
Important conditions
⦁ Co-financing: microgrants from UAH 500,000 to UAH 1 million are issued on a co-financing basis — the state covers up to 70% of the project cost, while at least 30% must be contributed by the recipient.
⦁ Registration period: only entrepreneurs whose sole proprietorship has been officially registered for at least 12 months may apply for a microgrant exceeding UAH 500,000.
(Changes introduced by the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 855 of July 15, 2025).
Grant funds can be used for:
⦁ renovation and furnishing of premises;
⦁ purchase of furniture, play and educational equipment;
⦁ creation of jobs for teachers and staff.
The “Own Business” program proves that business and education support can go hand in hand, because investing in kindergartens means investing in the country’s development. Children gain a modern and safe environment for growth, teachers and staff get new jobs, and communities receive a stronger educational foundation for the future.
