Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, heads of the Regional State Administration’s departments, and representatives of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Donetsk Oblast met with coordinators of the UN Protection Cluster.

The Protection Cluster in Ukraine is a coordination mechanism led by UNHCR that brings together over 300 partners to protect the rights of people affected by the war, particularly internally displaced persons.

Today’s meeting addressed issues relevant to the Donetsk region: population evacuation, the situation in frontline communities, and responses to the consequences of shelling.

They also discussed support for transit evacuation centers, particularly intermediate points, and the placement of evacuees after they pass through transit centers, including providing housing for vulnerable groups.

“The assistance from the Protection Cluster and all international partners is extremely important for the Donetsk region. Now, as the number of evacuees has increased due to the complex security situation, it is very important for us to provide our people with adequate support. Only through joint efforts can we overcome the consequences of the war. Thank you for your consistent support of our region, and we look forward to further cooperation,” emphasized Oleksandr Shevchenko.
