The youth of the Volnovakha district is implementing an eco-project in Dnipro called "Development of GreenSkills in Youth".
The project is part of the mini-grant competition "DIY Community" implemented by UNICEF.
The team of youth from the Volnovakha district submitted a project application and completed a three-day training workshop. They gained knowledge in project management, strategic planning, and preparation for implementation.
The project program includes the following activities:
- Conducting a founding online meeting "GreenSkills: how youth changes the world."
- Conducting an online training "My green skills: from theory to practice."
- Practical workshop "Gathering necessary equipment: preparation for an ecological hike."
- Eco-day "Green hike: nature as a teacher."
This project not only improves the environmental situation but also actively motivates youth to engage in processes of positive change. This is especially important for internally displaced persons among the youth. Youth among the displaced is about immense potential, strength, and readiness to act despite life's challenges. They strive for development and are capable of being a driving force for change today. They do not need to be told what to do – it is enough to give them space, trust, and tools.
Participation in such projects is a path to leadership, self-confidence, and a deeper connection with the community. Personal stories transform into collective action that changes the environment. Youth changes not only the space around them but also themselves.
The UNICEF program in the Donetsk region is implemented by the NGO "Measures" in partnership with the NGO "Country of Development" with the support of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
