On the occasion of the National Flag Day and Independence Day of Ukraine, with the support of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, the Veteran Policy Department of the Regional State Administration and the Mariupol District State Administration, the Sartana Military Administration held the event "The Way of the Unconquered" in the picturesque heart of the Carpathians.
The main purpose of the event was to honor the memory of the Heroes of Ukraine.
The event was also attended by family members of the fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine, war veterans and their families, members of the public and youth of the Mariupol region - Sartana, Nikolske, Mangush and Kalchytsia communities.
The official part of the event began at the House of Culture of the Yaremche City Council. It was here that a memorial plaque in honor and memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine was solemnly handed over to the Yaremche city territorial community from the delegation of the communities of Mariupol district of Donetsk region.
The participants trekked through the Carpathian National Nature Park. The ascent was accompanied by a field lecture by a local historian about the life and liberation struggle of Oleksa Dovbush, which is a reminder that this struggle continues today - on the battlefields for a free Ukraine.
During a stop at the Dovbush rocks, the participants of the ascent were presented with the materials of the Almanac - the Book of Memory of the Heroes of the Sartana Village Community.
Together, the participants of the ascent laid a "Time Capsule" called "Messages of the Unconquered" with personal messages to future generations of Ukrainians that reflect our hopes, aspirations, and unshakable faith in the Victory and a better future for Ukraine.
The event culminated in a climb to Mount Makovytsia, where the National Flag of Ukraine was solemnly raised at the height of spirit and earth. This moment became a symbol of Ukraine's unbreakable unity, faith in victory and is a testament to the indomitable nature of the Ukrainian people.
We remember everyone who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine!
We are grateful to the Defenders of Ukraine who are defending our Motherland!
