Another five “ancient witnesses” to the history of the Donetsk region—stone statues—have been successfully rescued and transported to the collections of the Yavornytskyi Dnipropetrovsk National History Museum.

This was reported by the 25th Separate Sicheslav Airborne Brigade, whose soldiers assisted in the evacuation of these cultural artifacts.

Among the evacuated artifacts are three particularly significant ones: a rare archaic stele from the Eneolithic or Early Bronze Age, a Polovtsian stone figure fragmented into three parts, and a particularly expressive stele of a Polovtsian warrior—large and highly detailed.

One of the sculptures was damaged by a blast wave following an airstrike. This serves as yet another reminder: the struggle is not only for territory, but also for the preservation of our historical memory.

These examples of stone sculpture have survived centuries and numerous cataclysms—and must survive the current war as well.
