The ten-day “Sich of the Unbreakable” training camp, held as part of the All-Ukrainian Military-Patriotic Game for Children and Youth “Sokil” (“Dzhura”), has come to an end. Thirteen groups from the Donetsk region participated - 104 boys and girls, including winners, prize winners, and active participants in the second regional stage of the game.
The training took place in the Khmelnytskyi region at the “Emerald City” Sanatorium and Health Center for Social Rehabilitation. The event was organized by the Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Schoolchildren.
At the opening ceremony, the participants were greeted by Ihor Haievyi, Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Donetsk Regional State Administration; Lieutenant Colonel Viktor Liutov, a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Software for Automated Control Systems at the Faculty of Automated Control Systems and Ground Flight Support of the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National Air Force University; as well as Anatoliy Didyk (“Friend Rodrigo”), a junior sergeant in the Ensign Corps of the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” of the National Guard of Ukraine.
The first day of training was a true celebration of new acquaintances and experiences. Participants had access to exhibition and interactive stations run by representatives of the National Police of Ukraine, the K-9 Unit, and mine safety specialists, as well as areas for archery and crossbow shooting, micro-orienteering, a pottery workshop, and themed photo zones. A demonstration by State Emergency Service rescuers simulating a fire response was a particular highlight, culminating in a real water shower from a fire hose.
For ten days, the cadets lived a full camp life. They navigated a military obstacle course, honed their orienteering skills, practiced archery and crossbow shooting, learned first aid, participated in creative workshops, and worked with clay.
An in-depth training program was prepared for the teams that will represent the Donetsk region at the III (All-Ukrainian) stage of the competition, as well as for the teams in the older age group. The cadets completed an intensive course in tactical medicine under the guidance of servicemen from the “Azov” Brigade, participated in a tactical game organized by representatives of the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National Air Force University, and practiced their air rifle shooting skills.
A highlight of the program was an educational tour of the Kamianets-Podilskyi Fortress—one of Ukraine’s most notable historical landmarks.
Events marking Ukraine’s Constitution Day held a special place in the program. During the “Eastern Shield of Ukraine” campfire, each troop presented a creative performance. The Jura members sang patriotic songs, recited poems, and performed choreographed routines. The audience gave a particularly warm reception to the performance by troop member Renata Arikh, whose soulful singing became one of the evening’s most memorable moments.
Camp life closely followed the traditions of the “Dzhura” program. Every morning, participants began the day with calisthenics, gathered for morning and evening circles, underwent drill training, stood guard at the National Flag of Ukraine, and ended the day around the campfire, where friendship, mutual respect, and team spirit reigned.
During the training, the cadets demonstrated their knowledge, practical skills, and physical fitness in traditional competitions. In the “Vidun” intellectual competition, they tested their knowledge of Ukrainian history; in the “Rescuer” competition, they demonstrated their skills in providing first aid; and they also put their strength, agility, and endurance to the test while navigating a military obstacle course and participating in orienteering competitions.
The training concluded with a closing ceremony. All participants were awarded certificates, trophies, and commemorative gifts.
Soon, teams from Donetsk Oblast will represent the region at the III (All-Ukrainian) stage of the “Sokil” (“Dzhura”) competition. We wish our teams every success in representing the region with dignity and in successfully demonstrating the results of their training.
