The 2026 European Cup season in the “speed” discipline concluded with the World Series competition in Leipzig, Germany, which featured adult and youth age groups (under 17 and under 19).
The Donetsk region was represented on the Ukrainian national team by athletes from the region’s School of higher sportsmanship and the Donetsk regional specialized professional sports college named S. Bubka.
At the European Cup stage in Leipzig, two female climbers from Donetsk oblast made it onto the podium: Daria Tkachova won “gold,” and Mariia Shymkova took “bronze.” In addition, Mariia won the bronze medal in the under-19 women’s category.
Based on the results of all stages of the 2026 European Climbing Cup (World Climbing Europe Series) in the “speed” discipline, athletes of the Donetsk region achieved the following rankings:
Daria Tkachova – 2nd place among women;
Kseniia Horielova – 1st place in the U21 age category and 3rd place among women;
Mariia Shymkova – 1st place in the U19 age category and 5th place among women;
Polina Khalkevych – 6th place among women.
