The employment service helped an IDP find fulfillment in a new city

Published 04 July 2025 year, 22:40

The war has changed the lives of millions of Ukrainians. One of those who was forced to leave her hometown was Ms. Daria from Mariupol. She moved to Dnipro, where she started from scratch. At first, she found a job as a teacher in a preschool, but she felt that she wanted to fulfill herself more deeply — in a job that would inspire her and allow her to help others.

Daria turned to the employment service to find a job that matched her professional skills and values. With a degree in philology, she wanted to find fulfilment in the field of communications and social projects.

The employment service specialists supported Daria at every stage: they provided job search consultations, invited her to training sessions and webinars for IDPs, and organized advanced training at the Poltava Center for Vocational and Technical Education of the State Employment Service under the educational program “Security Challenges in a State of War.”

Thanks to Daria's persistence and the support of the employment service, she managed to find a job as a public relations specialist at the “YaMariupol” Center in the city of Dnipro. This is not just a job — it is an opportunity to be useful to other IDPs, to share experiences and support people who have gone through similar situations.

In addition, Daria's employer will receive compensation payments for employing a registered unemployed person from among internally displaced persons under a fixed-term employment contract, in accordance with Order No. 696.

Each employment story is not just a statistic, but a life change. If you are an internally displaced person looking for work, don't stay alone — contact the employment service. We are here to help.
