The closest to the people are the district police officers. They know everything and everyone in their district. This helps save lives.
District officers know the safest evacuation routes and how many people to look for under the rubble. They know who needs help and cooperate with volunteers to provide residents with the essentials.
They maintain law and order under shelling. They evacuate families with children. They assist the wounded. During the war, our district officers have become "white angels," paramedics, and fighters of the infantry battalion on the front line.
Today, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the District Police Officer. Over the more than 100-year history of this service, approaches to work and responsibilities have changed, but the main thing has remained unchanged:
