The 56th sports tourism championship among students of Donetsk region dedicated to Europe Day was held online. The event was organized by the Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History of Student Youth with the support of the Department of Emergency Rescue, Vocational Physical Training and Tourism of the Ukrainian State Flight Academy of Kropyvnytskyi.
This year, 18 teams from 4 regions of Ukraine - Donetsk, Odesa, Rivne and Sumy - joined the competition. In total, there were 67 participants, which confirms the interest of young people in sports tourism and their willingness to develop teamwork, leadership, interaction and action skills in extreme conditions.
The program of the rally included four competitive blocks that combined theory and practice:
🔹 Team Business Card - a creative competition in the format of a video presentation, where participants demonstrated creativity, cohesion and team identity.
Civil Defense Basics and First Aid - practical and test tasks aimed at developing emergency preparedness.
🔹 “Guess the Personality” - an intellectual competition for knowledge of historical figures, culture, tourism and European values.
A special feature of the championship was the online competition stage in the Telegram group, where teams received tasks in stages, sent answers, and only after correct completion moved to the next level. This format allowed the participants to demonstrate not only knowledge but also speed of reaction, teamwork, and analytical skills.
The take-off championship proved once again that extracurricular education is not only the development of technical and tourist skills, but also a powerful tool for the formation of civic awareness, critical thinking and leadership skills.
