Athletes and coaches from Donetsk region competing in Olympic sports awarded presidential scholarships

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has awarded scholarships to outstanding young and promising Ukrainian athletes in olympic sports and their coaches for their sporting achievements in 2025.

The corresponding Decree No. 227/2026 was published on the official website of the head of state.

The list of scholarship recipients includes 3 athletes and 4 coaches from Donetsk region.

The monthly cash incentive in the amount of 11 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons will be received by the bronze medalist of the World taekwondo championships (WTF) Artem Harbar, and in the amount of 5.5 subsistence minimums – by his coach Yuriy Biryukov.

A scholarship of 7 minimum subsistence levels has been awarded to Olha Ivzhenko, bronze medalist at the European weightlifting championships, and 1.75 minimum subsistence levels to her coach Viktor Romanchuk.

A monthly cash incentive of 6 minimum subsistence levels will be awarded to Andrii Borovskyi, bronze medalist at the World junior weightlifting championships, and 1.5 minimum subsistence levels to his coaches Ihor Obukhov and Volodymyr Zhoga.

The awarding of scholarships to athletes and coaches is evidence of the state's due attention to the development of sport and support for those who multiply the sporting glory of Ukraine. Their achievements contribute to the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and motivate the younger generation to engage in regular physical activity.
