On August 22-24, Odesa hosted the Ukrainian Sculling Championship, which brought together 32 teams from seven regions and the capital. The participants determined the best in different categories: women, men, boys and adaptive athletes.
Donetsk region was represented by the Stimul men's team, Freedom women's team and, in addition, representatives of the region joined the Supernova women's team.
As a result, Freedom and Stimul won the national titles for the third time, while Supernova won bronze medals.
The Freedom team, which consists of seven police officers from Donetsk region, has once again proved that the strength of a woman in uniform lies not only in her dedication to her job, but also in her athletic endurance and cohesion. Today, it is a real professional team that sticks together and confidently triumphs at the national level.
"Stimul" is a close-knit men's team that includes experienced rowers and new members. Their main strength is unity, mutual support and a common goal. The team confirms its status as a leader from competition to competition.
"Supernova", the team from Donetsk and Dnipropetrovs'k regions, was a good opening for the tournament. Yulia Lustova and Olena Piddubna from Mariupol represented Donetsk region with dignity.
For the athletes of Donetsk region who are engaged in sculling, the sport remains a powerful source of faith, support and inspiration, a symbol of indomitability and strength of spirit.
