From June 6 to 8, the first round of the European Rugby Sevens Championship for men in the "Trophy" division took place in the Croatian city of Makarska.
The men's national team of Ukraine demonstrated a high level of skill, a thirst for victory, and won silver medals based on the results of the stage!
Among the players who made a significant contribution to the result are representatives from Donetsk region:
- Vitaliy Puchkov (Pokrovsk TG),
- Yevhen Checheta (Selidivska TG).
In the semifinals, our athletes confidently defeated the Romanian team with a score of 19:12, and in the final match, after a tense struggle, lost to the Polish team — 12:17.
Based on the results of the first stage, the Ukrainian team is in second place in the overall standings and has excellent chances for final victory in the championship.
The next round will take place from June 27 to 29 in Chișinău (Moldova).
The team is preparing for new matches and is determined to fight for gold!
