On June 28, 2025, it will be 29 years since the adoption of the Constitution of Ukraine. This year, we will once again celebrate the state holiday in the conditions of armed aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
Despite the horrors of war, life in Donetsk region continues: children continue to receive education, residents of the region have access to medical and social services, and conditions are being created for the development of creative abilities, etc.
On the occasion of Constitution Day of Ukraine, the regional state administration has launched a regional campaign "The Constitution of Ukraine through the prism of war." The stories of the residents of Donetsk region once again prove that even in a state of war, the commitment to constitutional principles is important for the Ukrainian state – the affirmation of human rights and freedoms, compliance with universal and European values, which the Ukrainian people bravely defend in the current conditions, protecting freedom, territorial integrity, independence, and sovereignty of Ukraine.
Article 43. Everyone has the right to work, which includes the opportunity to earn a living by work freely chosen or accepted.
“I really love my job. It is difficult, dangerous, but that is its meaning. I simply do what others do not dare to do. I live for this. And this is my strength,” says Stanislav Lytovchenko, a driver-paramedic of the pyrotechnic works and humanitarian demining unit of the Emergency Rescue Special Purpose Squad.
Stanislav is originally from Sloviansk and has been with the State Emergency Service since 2010. During his service, he has received several awards, including the Order of "For Courage" of the III degree, the honorary badge of the Associations "Order - Honor and Glory," the Presidential Award of Ukraine "For the Defense of Ukraine," and the badge "For Courage in Service."
“On December 12, 2022, we responded to a call in Kostiantynivka. We were driving, laughing, dreaming about how we would stop for those delicious pastries that were made right in Kostiantynivka after work. But just a few hours later, everything changed. We were working at the site of a helicopter crash with extremely dangerous munitions. Everyone knew their job, acted clearly and coordinated. And suddenly – an explosion.
Everything before my eyes turned red and yellow. A powerful blow to the back, a roar, a whistle in my ears. I flew. And while I was flying, time seemed to stop. A second stretched into eternity. The only thought in my head was: “Am I alive?.. Or is this already death?.. Maybe I just haven’t realized yet that it’s all over?” It was terrifying. Not from the pain – but from the unknown.
I landed, came to my senses, and saw – I was on fire. The bulletproof vest, clothes, face – everything was in flames. Somehow, I extinguished myself, threw off what was burning. I asked a comrade to help me get up – my body felt like it belonged to someone else. When I regained my senses a bit – I turned back. I wanted to help. But for three of my colleagues, it was already too late. Two were lying nearby. I didn’t even recognize the third one at first… It was our commander…
Then – the hospital, surgeries, the silence of the ward, and the roar in my ears. A burned face, shrapnel in my body, acoustic trauma, torn eardrums… They say my mustache and glasses saved me – my eyes and lips remained intact. Half a year of struggle. And I returned. Now in a different position. But there is still much ahead…” – the rescuer recounts.
Donetsk region is proud of everyone who stays in their place, works despite the danger, and brings Victory closer every day!
