Mariupol State University’s international partnerships open up opportunities for students that extend far beyond the classroom.
Thanks to a collaboration with the Institute of Archaeology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, future historians from Mariupol State University joined an archaeological expedition in Slovakia.
Together with researchers and students from Ukraine, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland, they explored an early medieval settlement, worked with archaeological finds, and learned about modern European practices for preserving historical heritage.
“During the expedition, our participants had the chance to feel like real seekers of medieval artifacts. It was an opportunity to hone their professional skills, master modern working methods, and work with high-tech equipment that you usually only see in science films,” emphasized Vyacheslav Zabavin, associate professor in the Department of History and Archaeology.
It is precisely these kinds of international internships that provide students not only with professional experience but also with the opportunity to become part of the European academic community.
