From September 28 to October 9, a practical training program was held in Dnipro for second-year students of the Kramatorsk Center for Vocational and Technical Education, who are training to become “Hairdressers (Hair Stylists).”

Due to safety considerations, some students attended classes in person, while others participated remotely in real time. The training took place in a modern educational facility equipped with the necessary professional equipment, tools, and materials.

Throughout their practical training, students practiced hairdressing techniques, honed their skills, and reinforced the abilities necessary for their future careers.

An important component of the training was combining professional instruction with community service. The students provided free hairdressing services to people with internally displaced person (IDP) status. This allowed them to work in real-world conditions, improve their skills, and at the same time help people who had been forced to leave their homes due to the war.

A separate part of the program was the “Single-Tone Coloring” master class, led by colorist and technologist Olga Piskokha. During the session, students learned about the professional nuances of working with hair coloring products and practiced the techniques for coloring hair in a single tone.

This combination of coursework, hands-on training, and real-world work gives students the opportunity to reinforce their professional skills and gain a better understanding of the responsibilities and value of their chosen profession—when the knowledge they’ve gained can be immediately put into practice and used to help others.
