On August 1, 2025, the Sviatohirsk and Chemerovets communities held an online meeting on the rituals for the holiday of Makovei, "Makovei Colors: Traditions Unite."
The meeting was held as part of the national project "Side by Side: United Communities".
The event was prepared and organized by the Chemerovets Center for Culture, Leisure and Arts, the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Sviatohirsk City Council, and the Department of Family, Youth, Medicine, Sports and National Patriotic Education of the Sviatohirsk City Council.
During the event, the attendees had the opportunity to learn about the traditions of celebrating St. John the Baptist in different regions of Ukraine, learn recipes for traditional poppy dishes, create their own bouquet during a master class, and assemble a festive basket for consecration.
