Children with disabilities are not a separate category. They are an integral part of our community. They have the right to be present, to create, to feel, to develop, and to be heard.
As part of the National Barrier-Free Week, educators from the Donetsk Regional Center for Tourism and Local History for Youth, which is temporarily operating in Kropyvnytskyi, held a special master class – "Candle Symphony: Harmony of Color and Light".
Children with special educational needs, including displaced persons from Donetsk region, participated in the event.
This was not just a creative activity, but a warm meeting where sincerity, kindness, attention, and support prevailed – the children heard simple yet important words for them: "You are important." "You are needed." "You are with us."
Working with beeswax became something new and at the same time exciting for the children.
Tactile sensations, colors, warmth – all of this helped to focus, to distract from tension, to find joy in the process of creation. In every twist – a ray of light, warmth, and inner strength that exists in each of us. Each child created their own candle – unique, just like themselves.
Each child created their own candle – unique, just like themselves. In every twist – a ray of light, warmth, and inner strength that exists in each of us.
And it is in such moments – simple and sincere – that a world is formed where every child has a place, a voice, and the right to be themselves.
