The best photo from the Donetsk Oblast in the “Wiki Loves Monuments 2025” contest was a picture of the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra. The photo was taken by Oleksandr Malon.

Photos depicting the Svyatogorsk Lavra have repeatedly won in the “Best Photo of the Region” category. In 2014, a work by Kostyantyn Bryzhnychenko was recognized as the best at the international stage.
Among other regional landmarks whose photos were recognized by the jury in previous years of the contest were: the old water tower in Mariupol, the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Donetsk, the Holy Resurrection Church in Sloviansk, the “Dzevulsky and Lange” office, and the All Saints Church in Bakhmut.
