#SideBySide
As part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities,” a meaningful online bridge event for librarians titled “Bridges of Unity: Community Libraries in Honor of Ukrainian Statehood Day” took place.
The event brought together library professionals from the Toretsk, Kaniv, and Ruzhyn communities around shared Ukrainian values, historical memory, and cultural heritage.
Community representatives welcomed the participants of the online meeting, emphasizing the importance of Ukrainian unity, the preservation of national identity, and the role of libraries as centers of culture, knowledge, and spirituality.
During the event, each community presented one of its notable historical or spiritual landmarks, which serves as a symbol of Ukrainian statehood and an integral part of our country’s cultural heritage.
The online bridge provided an excellent opportunity for professional networking, sharing experiences, and promoting the cultural heritage of various regions of Ukraine.
Despite the distances and the complex challenges of today, libraries have once again proven that they are true bridges of unity, bringing communities together, preserving historical memory, and fostering respect for Ukrainian statehood.
Together we are strong! Together we preserve our history and our culture, and build the future of an independent Ukraine!
