Children of the Siverska community, together with the children of the Onokivska community, continue to discover Slovakia as part of the "Side by Side: United Communities" project.
One of the most memorable experiences was a trip to Spisska Nova Veska, a city in eastern Slovakia located on the Hornad River at the foot of the majestic High Tatras. The city is known for its historic center and is rightfully considered the "gateway" to the Slovak Paradise National Park.
The children were warmly welcomed by Olha Semanchkova, head of the NASA CESTA organization and ombudsman of the Ukrainian Ambassador to Slovakia. Ms. Semanchkova not only treated the children to delicious hot lunches and gave them books, but also personally accompanied the group on an excursion to the majestic High Tatras. They are said to be "miniature Alps" - small in area, but striking in their beauty.
And what is a vacation without a drive?
The children got real emotions in the thermal water park "Shirava", which is located on the shore of the picturesque Zemplinska Shirava reservoir. This was not a "usual" water park at all - everyone was impressed by the pool with waves imitating the sea, relaxation pools with massage jets, hydromassage loungers, and rides ranging from long slides to a "wild river." There was no limit to our joy!
Our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to this important cause. Together we create bright childhood memories and build bridges of friendship between communities!
