The ‘Winter Wonderland Workshop’ art and educational workshops were held by the State Historical and Architectural Reserve Administration in Svyatogorsk. The event took place at the Boryspil City Library for Children and brought participants together in a pre-holiday atmosphere. The event was aimed at supporting children from Donetsk Oblast and children of military personnel.
On the eve of their favourite winter holiday, participants immersed themselves in an atmosphere of kindness and anticipation of miracles. During the introductory talk, the children learned about St. Nicholas — the patron saint of children, a philanthropist and a symbol of mercy. They were told about the history of the holiday and the good customs that have supported the belief in miracles and the power of good deeds since ancient times.
After learning about the history of the holiday, it was time for creative inspiration. The young participants enthusiastically made New Year's toys using the decoupage technique, turning their ideas into bright festive decorations. Each toy became a small embodiment of children's imagination and a true symbol of pre-New Year's miracles.
The library staff also prepared a thematic exhibition of children's books about winter holidays, St. Nicholas and good deeds for the children. The exhibition was a bright addition to the event and inspired the young participants to be creative.
The ‘Winter Wonder Workshop’ gave the children joy, support and a sense of unity. The creative process became an opportunity for them to believe in miracles, feel the warmth of working together and create something special with their own hands.
