Systematic adaptive training continues at Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs as part of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ “Friendly Support” project.
Alina Kramarenko, a lecturer in the Department of Special Physical Training at Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs, in collaboration with the regional branch of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, has enrolled a new participant in the training sessions—Oleksandr, a 24-year-old commander of a sapper unit in the 48th Engineering Brigade.
In December 2025, while carrying out a combat mission in the Kupiansk area, he sustained a severe injury and lost his lower limb. The first session was conducted one-on-one: together with the trainer, Oleksandr set goals, drew up a training plan, and began his physical rehabilitation.
“Even in a small city, there are institutions of higher education that are willing to help soldiers with severe injuries free of charge—to socialize, train, communicate, and work on themselves,” Oleksandr noted.
