A round table on the reintegration of veterans was held at the Donetsk Regional State Administration with the participation of a delegation from the European Union Advisory Mission for Civilian Security Sector Reform in Ukraine.

Artur Nasibyan, head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration's Department for Veterans' Policy, spoke about the main challenges and needs in the reintegration of veterans into civilian life and shared his own experience.

"Many war veterans from Donetsk region have now moved to other regions of Ukraine, but they remain our people and need support from the regional authorities," he stressed.

Rolf Holmbo, Head of the EU Advisory Mission in Ukraine, assured that the mission is working on potential areas in which, in accordance with its mandate, it can contribute to strengthening mechanisms for supporting veterans, their rehabilitation, and professional reintegration.

Oksana Golovko, Director of the Department of Investment, Innovation Development, and External Relations of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, also spoke about the gender aspects of veteran rehabilitation and the specific problems faced by female veterans.

In addition, the round table discussed the training of psychological support trainers from among veterans.

Both sides expressed their hope for deeper cooperation—an increase in the number of joint projects and an improvement in their effectiveness.
