On June 8, at the Khmelnytskyi Regional Art Museum, as part of the “Hand in Hand” children’s volunteer movement and the “Save the Lives of Heroes” campaign, a meeting was held between members of the “Feel the Rhythm” dance club and the “Hraylyk” theater club of the Donetsk Regional Palace of Children’s and Youth Creativity with Ukrainian defenders. The event was organized jointly with the NGO “IDPs of Ukraine.”
In the first part of the meeting, the children and defenders, paired up, worked together to create artworks on the theme “Tree of Life”—a symbol of strength, unity, resilience, and faith in Ukraine’s victory. At first, communication was reserved, but the joint activity helped foster interaction among the event participants.
A special moment was that each pair independently decided the fate of their drawing. The children presented some of the artwork to the Defenders along with their best wishes, while the servicemen left other pieces with the young artists as a memento of the meeting.
After the creative session, everyone enjoyed refreshments and friendly tournaments of checkers and chess. This provided an opportunity to continue the conversation in a relaxed atmosphere and get to know one another better.
This is not the first meeting with military personnel that young residents of Donetsk in Khmelnytskyi have participated in. Such events help support the defenders during their rehabilitation, bringing positive emotions and sincere childlike gratitude.
