On June 24, a meeting was held in the Kostiantynivka city territorial community with veterans and family members of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine, dedicated to current issues of implementing veteran policy and social protection for veterans.
The event was attended by the head of the veteran policy department of the regional state administration, Artur Nasibyan, acting head of the Kramatorsk district state administration, Viktoriya Nabokova, head of the Kostiantynivka city military administration, Serhiy Horbunov, representatives of structural units of the city council, Kostiantynivka-Druzhkivka department of the Donetsk regional employment center, service center No. 5 of the citizen service department of the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in the Donetsk region, and members of the NGO "Ukrainian Institute of Crisis Management."
During the meeting, the current state of the implementation of veteran policy in the Kostiantynivka community was discussed. Special attention was paid to the War Veterans Support Program, which is in effect from 2023 to 2025.
The head of the social and veteran policy department of the city council reported on the provision of material assistance, housing benefits, and utility services, as well as access to medical and social services. Currently, the military administration is developing a mechanism for providing material assistance to the children of fallen Defenders for holidays and to military personnel released from captivity.
State employment programs for combatants, persons with disabilities, and their family members, as well as the algorithm for obtaining rehabilitation means and explanations regarding pension provision and benefits, were also presented.
The project "Unbreakable Hearts of the Kostiantynivka Community," initiated by the community administration, aims to commemorate the memory of fallen Defenders of Ukraine through the memories of their relatives. Liliya Myroshnychenko, head of the NGO "Ukrainian Institute of Crisis Management," presented the public project "Unity. Search. Victory," talked about the organization's activities, and about supporting the families of missing military personnel.
Today's event brought together representatives of government bodies, public organizations, and social services for coordinated interaction on issues of supporting veterans and preserving the memory of the Heroes of Ukraine. Joint efforts in this direction are a guarantee of sustainable support for defenders and the formation of a national memory worthy of the feats of our Defenders.
