On June 13, the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine in Kyiv hosted the 3rd Cultural and Arts Festival “The Unbreakable Culture of Bakhmut and Friends.” The event was organized as part of the national project “Side by Side: United Communities.”

The festival served as a platform for preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Bakhmut region, as well as a space for uniting communities that support the people of Bakhmut during the war.

A rich cultural and artistic program was prepared for visitors. Guests had the opportunity to view the photo exhibition “Bakhmut Libraries Through Time and Space,” the exhibition “From Steppe to Industry: The History of the Bakhmut Region,” which included digitized materials from the Bakhmut Local History Museum, as well as participate in themed workshops and creative activities. Interactive entertainment areas and game programs were available for children.

During the ceremonial portion of the event, participants emphasized the importance of preserving cultural identity and developing inter-community cooperation within the framework of the “Side by Side: United Communities” project. Partners who support the Bakhmut community and contribute to the implementation of cultural initiatives were also recognized.

Special thanks were extended to the partner communities that are hosting and supporting the residents of Bakhmut, — Kremenchuk, Poltava, Gostomel, Slavutych, and Kyiv; the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine for its assistance in organizing the festival; and the Honored Academic Model Orchestra of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for its participation in preparing and conducting the event.

The festival concluded with a concert program featuring creative groups and performers who showcased the cultural diversity of the Bakhmut region and partner communities.

The festival once again confirmed that Ukrainian culture remains a vital factor in preserving national unity, historical memory, and supporting communities affected by Russian aggression.
