On June 17, a meeting was held with veterans and family members of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine from the Novogrodivka city community, chaired by Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.

The event was also attended by representatives of the regional state administration’s Department of Veterans’ Policy, the Commissioner for Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances, and the Pokrovsk branch of the Donetsk Regional Employment Center.

Oleksandr Shevchenko emphasized the importance of open dialogue for identifying urgent needs, responding promptly to problematic issues, and improving the system of support for war veterans and their families.

During the event, participants discussed a number of pressing issues, including the provision of state and additional social guarantees funded by the state and regional budgets, the legal status of persons who went missing under special circumstances while performing military service, as well as social support measures for the Defenders of Ukraine, war veterans, and their families, which are funded by the budget of the Novohrodivka City Territorial Community.

Special attention was given to employment services for veterans and their family members, as well as to the practical aspects of implementing the resolution “On Approval of the Procedure for Providing Assistance in Resolving Housing Issues for Certain Categories of Internally Displaced Persons.”

They also discussed ensuring effective communication with war veterans, their family members, and the families of fallen (deceased) Defenders of Ukraine using remote communication tools.

Meeting participants discussed measures to commemorate the fallen Defenders of Ukraine and the implementation of the policy on honoring the memory of the Heroes of the Novohrodivka community.

During the event, attendees had the opportunity to ask questions that concerned them and receive professional and comprehensive answers from representatives of the relevant agencies.
