










A working meeting was held at one of the transit centers between Oleksandr Shevchenko, Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, and Cynthia Viveros Cano, Deputy Head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Ukraine. The meeting was joined by heads of specialized structural units of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, heads of the UN OCHA regional hubs in Dnipro and Kharkiv Alhadi Albaridi and Maka Khazaliya.
The discussion raised a number of important issues related to the coordination of humanitarian aid for the population of the region affected by the war. In particular, they discussed support for evacuation and assistance to internally displaced persons.
Oleksandr Shevchenko emphasized the importance of partnership between the government and international organizations in supporting the civilian population and thanked the UN representatives for their consistent assistance to Donetsk region.
At the meeting, representatives of the UN OCHA familiarized themselves with the conditions of temporary stay of people in the transit hub and the services provided for internally displaced persons.
The deputy head of the region emphasized that the evacuation of civilians is one of the priorities of the regional state administration. In order to continue effective evacuation measures and save lives, it is necessary to continue cooperation between the regional authorities, international partners, national charitable organizations, local activists and volunteers who make a significant contribution to this area of work.
