The Ukrainian language is promoted through informational materials and resources

Published 22 April 2026 year, 12:12

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine is launching an information campaign aimed at strengthening the status of the Ukrainian language as the state language and increasing its use in all spheres of public life.

The initiative is being implemented as part of the 2026 objectives of the State Targeted National and Cultural Program for the Development and Functioning of the Ukrainian Language through 2030. Its goal is to create conditions for the comprehensive development of the Ukrainian language, enhance its prestige, strengthen its role in society, and reinforce national unity.

As part of the campaign, informational materials have been prepared for distribution, focusing on the official status of the Ukrainian language, citizens’ language rights and obligations, as well as liability for violations of language legislation. It is recommended that these materials be used to inform the public, in particular by displaying them in public places, at businesses, in institutions, and at educational facilities, as well as to cover relevant topics in local media.

You can view the informational materials at the following link:

The Ministry of Culture’s website also features a collection of online and offline resources, as well as mobile apps for learning Ukrainian or improving one’s proficiency in the language: Master the Ukrainian language!

As part of this initiative, we invite you to help share a series of videos titled “Oh, What’s That?”, which promote the Ukrainian language as a vibrant tool for communication, emotion, and interaction: https://fex.net/uk/s/dedocma

The implementation of such measures will help establish the Ukrainian language as a key component of national identity, foster the development of the linguistic and cultural sphere, and promote social cohesion.
