The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has updated the mechanism of state support for farmers using reclaimed land in the frontline areas.
The relevant Resolution No. 930 "On Amendments to the Procedure for Using Funds Provided in the State Budget for Agricultural Producers to Provide State Support to Producers Using Reclaimed Land and Water Users Organizations" was adopted at a regular meeting.
"The Government has made an extremely important decision to support agricultural producers. Due to the consequences of the war, in particular the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, as well as the drought in the south and east, farmers in several regions of Ukraine have recorded significant damage and crop losses. Therefore, financial support from the state budget for the restoration and construction of hydraulic infrastructure of reclamation systems will increase the irrigation area and reduce risks during the irrigation season," said Oleksiy Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.
- What changes are expected?
From now on, agricultural producers and water user organizations working on irrigated land in the frontline areas will be able to use state support.
- Who can receive a budget subsidy?
Agricultural producers using reclaimed land - up to 50% of the costs (no more than UAH 26,500) per hectare of cultivated land for the reconstruction or construction of reclamation systems carried out from November 1, 2024 to October 31, 2025.
Water user organizations - up to 50% of the cost of reconstruction and overhaul of pumping stations commissioned from November 1, 2024 to October 31, 2025.
Applications will be accepted through the State Agrarian Register. The start of applications for support will be announced additionally on the website of the Ministry of Economy.
The implementation of the resolution will ensure the provision of state support to agricultural producers and water user organizations, which, in particular, are registered and conduct business activities on the territory of Ukraine, except for the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine (the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol) and the territories where military operations are being conducted or have been conducted or temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, approved by the order of the Ministry of Development, and for which the date of termination of the temporary occupation has not been determined.
