The National Health Screening Program 40+ has been launched in Ukraine: when and how to use the service

Published 06 January 2026 year, 16:32

The National Health Screening Program 40+, aimed at early detection of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus, and mental health problems for Ukrainians aged 40+, began operating on the first day of 2026. And at the end of this month, Ukrainians aged 40 and older will begin receiving their first notifications and invitations to undergo screening.

How does it work?

Invitations to screening will be sent to the Diya app on the 30th day after the birthday of people aged 40 and older.

After confirming participation in the program, 2,000 hryvnia will be credited to the Diya Card within seven days. The funds can only be used to pay for screening.

For those who do not use the Diya app, it is possible to apply for a bank card and submit an application through the Administrative Services Center. This can be done 30 days after your birthday.

The National Health Screening 40+ covers:

  • questionnaires and assessment of individual risks (in particular, cardiovascular disease, risk of type 2 diabetes, and mental health);
  • physical examination (blood pressure measurement, heart rate and rhythm assessment, anthropometry);
  • laboratory tests showing the functioning of the heart, blood vessels, and kidneys;
  • individual recommendations from a doctor regarding lifestyle and health status, and, if necessary, prescription of medication or referral for further examination or treatment.

Detailed information about the Health Screening 40+ program and answers to frequently asked questions can be found at the link  https://screening.moz.gov.ua/

A list of participating medical institutions will also be available there.
