“I was pleased to meet, albeit online for now, with the delegation of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (ECHO), led by Director-General Mr. Maciej Popowski.
We spoke with Mr. Popowski about the humanitarian and security situation, evacuation, and preparations for the winter: the level of readiness and resilience, as well as issues of protecting and ensuring the functioning of critical civilian infrastructure.
An equally important and pressing issue is compact accommodation sites for IDPs from Donetsk region.
I outlined the priority needs of Donetsk region for the upcoming heating season, including generators and fuel for them, construction materials, nets, gabion structures, safety equipment, solid fuel, and more.
Despite everything, our determination to continue resisting and defending our territory remains unchanged. In such a situation, support and assistance from the European Union are of vital importance.
I believe that through joint efforts we will overcome all challenges and provide maximum assistance to our people!” emphasized Vadym Filashkin.
