The Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration presented state awards, letters of appreciation from the Donetsk Regional State Administration, and certificates for one-time financial assistance to our athletes.
This year, representatives of the region won 2,076 medals at Ukrainian championships and 533 medals at international competitions. Thanks to them, Ukraine’s national anthem has repeatedly been played at venues around the world—an important contribution to cultural diplomacy.
Such achievements testify to the remarkable resilience and professionalism of our athletes, who, even in evacuation, continue to maintain a world-class level and deliver high results.
“I reminded everyone that Donetsk Region’s athletes are fighting not only in stadiums but also on the real battlefield—93 sports representatives are serving in the ranks of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
It was a pleasure to receive symbolic gifts, including a katana that our Deaflympians brought back from competitions in Japan.
