On Ukraine’s Unity Day, educators, business representatives, and government officials gathered in Dnipro to focus not on slogans, but on practical solutions for the Donetsk region.
Among the participants were Serhii Babak, Head of the relevant Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science.
“First of all, I visited the exhibition showcasing the achievements of our relocated educational institutions. It is encouraging to see that they continue to develop successfully even in evacuation.
We discussed what is needed right now: modern workshops and laboratories, expanded dual education, qualification centers, internships, and clear demand from employers. We also identified the specialties most needed for community recovery — electricians, welders, builders, mechanics, and specialists in water and heat supply.
This will provide young people with their first jobs and give internally displaced persons a chance to retrain quickly and begin a new stage of life. We must train people for real jobs and support teachers who, together with students, keep education alive.
I am grateful to the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Employment Service, businesses, and partner communities. Unity means joint decisions that bring the recovery of the Donetsk region and our victory closer,” Vadym Filashkin emphasized.
