Following forced relocations from Donetsk and Bakhmut, the sports facility currently operates in Poltava.
The Head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration inspected the conditions under which our athletes study, train, and live: sports halls and fields, the dormitory, the dining hall, the medical unit, and a new smart space. He also met with the college staff to discuss preparations for the new academic year.
Today, 297 pupils and students attend the institution, where athletes are trained in 15 Olympic sports. 38 students are members of Ukraine's national team, and 4 more are preparing for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Vadym Filashkin presented the college with a certificate for the purchase of sports uniforms and specialized equipment totaling nearly 2.2 million UAH. He also awarded the title of Honored Coach of Ukraine in Weightlifting to Ihor Obukhov, presented commendations from the Donetsk Regional State Administration to college teachers, and expressed gratitude to the entire staff.
"Together with Maryna Hrynova, Rector of the V.G. Korolenko Poltava National Pedagogical University—where the college is currently based—we discussed further cooperation and support for the sports institution. I am grateful to the university community for supporting our athletes, children, and youth.
I had the opportunity to hand Ms. Maryna a letter of appreciation from the Donetsk Regional State Administration for fruitful cooperation in preserving the sports potential of Donetsk Oblast.
Thank you to the teachers, coaches, and the entire college team, who, after several forced relocations, preserved the college and continue to train high-level athletes. Our task is to provide them with the proper conditions and support for this," emphasized Vadym Filashkin.
