This was reported by the head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, head of the regional military administration Vadym Filashkin.
Minister for Veterans Affairs Natalia Kalmykova also took part in the meeting.
On the agenda was support for veterans and their families in the regions as part of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy's “Heroes Policy” initiative.
They discussed the coordination of actions by authorities in this area, the financing of regional programs, and the deployment of a network of support for veterans by special specialists from communities.
Donetsk Oblast is also implementing this system, and competitive selection of such specialists is currently underway.
"Our region is actively involved in all state programs and initiatives related to supporting veterans.
As in previous years, this year, on the initiative of the Head of State, the country's budget provides for almost 4 billion hryvnias for the payment of monetary compensation for the purchase of housing for those who defended the country and the families of those who died.
This amount of funding will make it possible to provide separate housing for thousands of families.
I am grateful to the government, the President of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs for supporting regional initiatives as part of the implementation of the “Heroes Policy.”
Many Donetsk residents stood up to defend Ukraine in 2014 and 2022, so it is extremely important for us to help these people and their families," Vadym Filashkin emphasized.
